Every company's data is protected by regular, full database backups. A background process checks every company, hourly, against that company's own configured backup frequency in days, and runs a fresh backup the moment it's due — a company can also switch this off entirely by setting the frequency to zero. Alongside the automatic schedule, an admin can trigger a backup on demand at any time from the Backups screen with a single click, and it runs in the background rather than blocking the screen.
Every backup attempt, successful or failed, is kept in a visible history — never just the most recent one — so a repeating failure is easy to spot rather than silently hidden. To keep disk usage under control, only a recent, generous number of successful backups are retained per company; older ones are pruned automatically once a new one succeeds. A completed backup can be downloaded, or used to restore the entire company database, a destructive action gated behind its own dedicated permission and an explicit typed confirmation.
