A customer is always optional on an order — a sale can go through as a quick, no-name transaction, or be attached to a customer on file to build up history, points, and wallet balance over time. Each customer record holds a name, phone, email, mailing address, and an optional date of birth.
Wallet & tax exemption
Every customer has a spendable wallet balance that can be used as a payment method at checkout just like cash or card, funded either by redeeming loyalty points or by a manual staff top-up or correction. A customer can also be flagged as tax-exempt, which skips tax on every line of every order placed for them from that point on, without touching how tax works for anyone else.
- Attach or skip a customer on any sale — never mandatory
- Track a customer's phone, email, and address for contact and receipts
- Let a customer pay with their own wallet balance at checkout
- Manually adjust a customer's wallet for refunds or corrections, with a reason on record
- Deactivate a customer without losing their order and transaction history
- Mark a customer as tax-exempt for certified or export-style sales
