The Checkout screen is where a cashier builds a cart and completes a sale. Products can be added by scanning a regular barcode or, for scale items sold by weight, by scanning a special weighing-scale barcode that encodes the product code and either the weight or the pre-computed price directly in the digits — the screen decodes it instantly with no server round trip. A sale can be paid with more than one method at once, since every payment is recorded as its own line against the order: cash, card, wallet balance, or a redeemed gift voucher can all be combined to cover one total.
When a real payment gateway is configured for the branch's currency, a single card payment is routed through it and the order waits in an "awaiting confirmation" state — stock is reserved but not yet deducted — until the gateway confirms or the cashier retries or cancels. A cart can also be put on hold and resumed later instead of finishing immediately.
