Every business runs on a single base currency, the one every product price is assumed to be denominated in. Additional currencies can be added alongside it, each with its own exchange rate relative to the base, and its own decimal precision — most currencies use two decimal places, but posflect supports currencies that use three or zero as well.
Live exchange rates
A branch can trade in its own currency instead of the company's base currency, converting every price automatically at that branch's own rate. Rates can be typed in by hand, or updated automatically from a live provider, either on demand or on a recurring schedule — and the system always knows whether a given rate was set manually or fetched live, so it's clear which numbers are trustworthy market data and which were entered by an admin.
- Designate exactly one currency as the base; every other currency's rate is relative to it
- Set each currency's decimal precision to match how it's actually quoted
- Refresh exchange rates automatically from a live feed, on demand or on a schedule
- Define the physical note and coin denominations used at checkout for fast cash entry
- Assign a specific currency to a branch to sell in something other than the base currency
