A branch is the top-level organizational unit in posflect — every product's stock, every order, and every cash shift belongs to exactly one branch. Each branch is set as retail, restaurant, or hybrid, and that choice decides whether restaurant-only concepts like dining sections and tables even appear for it.
A branch can be given a precise location using the built-in geography data, and optionally trades in its own currency instead of the company's base currency. Staff must be explicitly assigned to a branch before they can work there or see anything scoped to it, unless they hold access to all branches.
Sections & tables
For restaurant and hybrid branches, sections are named dining areas — a main hall or a terrace — that group individual tables, each with a seating capacity, so a dine-in order can be attached to the exact table it belongs to.
- Assign each branch a business type that shapes which features it shows
- Set a manager who can act on any held order at that branch
- Turn on per-branch controls like requiring approval for large discounts or order cancellations
- Organize a restaurant floor into sections and individually named, capacity-tracked tables
- Restrict staff so only those assigned to a branch can work its till
