Because posflect's server is often cloud-hosted, it has no direct way to reach a thermal printer sitting on a branch's own local network. The Print Agent solves this: a small program installed on any computer at the branch, which pairs with your account once using a short pairing code and then quietly polls the server every few seconds for queued print jobs, sending each one on to the right printer over the branch's own network or USB connection. That same poll doubles as a heartbeat, so the Print Agents screen always shows which machines are currently online.
An agent can optionally also run a Local Print Hub — a tiny local address a till's browser can print straight to, bypassing the cloud entirely, for the moments a branch loses internet access. Turning this on gives you a token to hand to your till staff. The same local hub can bridge an electronic scale wired into the branch computer, so weight readings reach the till directly over the local network.
